The Charity Box is a monthly collab box hosted by JReine and features several guest makers. What makes it a charity box? Each month a new charity is chosen and some proceeds from sales will go towards that charity.

This month’s theme is Book Club and the charity is Epilepsy Foundation. I have two polishes to share with y’all from February’s Charity Box. The box’s shop opens for preorder on February 11th and closes on February 20th.

Nailed It! – Bedtime Blues

Bedtime Blues is a sheer turquoise jelly packed with violet/pink/gold/crystal flakies, and a touch of holo micro flakies.

Nailed It! strikes again with a turquoise after my heart. Bedtime Blues is inspired by “Just Go To Bed” By Mercer Mayer. This polish is beautiful and it gives me feelings of nostalgia as I’m fairly sure my parents read it to me when I was a kid.

The book is about teaching little ones a bedtime routine. Which is awesome! However, everyone once in a while (or all the time) I think it’s okay to not go to bed and stay up painting your nails with Bedtime Blues.

I love the flakies chosen for this turquoise jelly. I’ve always been a fan of turquoise polishes with pink and pink. The violet/pink/gold crystals complement the turquoise SO much. Don’t sleep on this one!

Swamp Gloss – I’m Gonna Ignore Your Advice

I’m Gonna Ignore Your Advice – a periwinkle crelly with iridescent flakies

Swamp Gloss’s contribution this month is inspired by “Fantastic Mr. Fox” by Roald Dahl. Periwinkle is a color between blue and violet and depending on the light you’ll sometimes see more violet and other times it’ll be bluer.

I’m Gonna Ignore Your Advice is straightforward. There isn’t any shimmer here to shift the color, it’s just how periwinkle is. Delicate, almost dusty, and then with a dash of iridescent flakies. Chef’s kiss.

Swamp Gloss may have turned me into a blurple fan with I’m Gonna Ignore Your Advice and I’m not mad about it. If you already love blurple polishes or have thought about adding more to your collection grab this one.

Meet Me At Book Club

I’ve been a vivacious reader for as long as I can remember. Often times while I do my nails I’m listening to an audiobook. So, when I heard that February’s Charity Box theme would be Book Club I was excited!

There are some great makers and polishes this month and, I’m thrilled with both of the ones I’ve written about above.

Nailed It!’s Bedtime Blues and Swamp Gloss’s I’m Gonna Ignore Your Advice applied fabulously. All of my pictures show three coats with a qdtc or matte. Photographed in artificial daylight bulbs. I use a peel-off base coat when I swatch, so I didn’t have any issues removing the polishes. In the past, I’ve never had issues removing either brand while using a regular base coat. Plus, both of these brands have my favorite fan brush!
